JEDDAH: The chequered flag came down on Monday on the first race of Round 3 of the Aramco F4 海角直播n Championship at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the fastest street circuit in the world.

Certified by the Federation Internationale de l鈥橝utomobile and promoted by Altawkilat Motorsport under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, the event brought together 14 drivers representing eight teams in an atmosphere of fierce competition that underscores the Kingdom鈥檚 growing stature on the global motorsport stage.

At the conclusion of the race, driver Lewis Wherrell from Team Caraagy took a commanding victory, followed by Kit Belofsky from Team Peax in second place and Scott Lindblom from Team Red Bull in third. Esmee Kosterman from Team My-Car received the best female driver award, while Wherrell was honored with the best rookie award.

In a thrilling contest from start to finish, Wherrell clinched first place after narrowly edging out Belofsky, who finished second, by 1.694 seconds. Lindblom secured third, trailing by 2.959 seconds, while Thibaut Ramaekers from Team Zahid and Adam Al-Azhari from Team Valvoline rounded out the top five. Positions six through ten went respectively to Kosterman, Chiara Battig, Abdullah Kamel, Megan Bruce and Ava Dobson.

The competition resumed on Tuesday with the second and final race, bringing together the championship鈥檚 leading drivers for a fiercely contested showdown.

With only narrow gaps separating the competitors, an intense battle is expected on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, where high-speed corners and demanding turns will once again test the precision and control of every driver.

RIYADH: Turkiye鈥檚 swimmers continued their impressive run at the Riyadh 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games on Monday by claiming six out of seven gold medals at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex.

In the men鈥檚 100-meter backstroke, Turkiye鈥檚 Mert Ali Satir took gold, Egypt鈥檚 Abdelrahman Amr Atia won silver, and Turkiye鈥檚 Berk Ozkul secured bronze.

In the women鈥檚 100-meter backstroke, Turkish swimmers dominated as Sudem Denizli claimed gold and Halime Z眉lal Zeren took silver, while Indonesia鈥檚 Candrea Flairene finished with bronze.

Also, Turkiye鈥檚 Doruk Yogurtcuoglu won the men鈥檚 200-meter freestyle event ahead of Algeria鈥檚 Jaouad Syoud and Kazakhstan鈥檚 Aibat Myrzamuratov.

In the women鈥檚 200-meter freestyle, Indonesia鈥檚 Adellia Adellia captured gold, followed by Turkiye鈥檚 Pinar Donmez, and Lebanon鈥檚 Lynn El-Hajj.

In the men鈥檚 200-meter butterfly, Turkiye鈥檚 Polat Uzer Tornali clinched gold, followed by Azerbaijan鈥檚 Ramil Valizada and Iran鈥檚 Mohammad Mahdi Gholami.

In the women鈥檚 category, Defne Tanig and Seher Kaya secured gold and silver respectively for Turkiye, while Algeria鈥檚 Imene Kouthar Zeitouni took bronze.

The day concluded with the mixed 4x100-meter medley relay, where Turkiye once again topped the podium with gold, while Indonesia took silver, and Uzbekistan bronze.

The swimming competition on Tuesday features 100-meter and 200-meter freestyle events for men and women, and 4x100-meter relays.
