DUBAI: British rockstar Dominic Harrison, known by his stage name Yungblud, promised to return to the UAE during his regional debut at the Untold music festival in Dubai on Friday.
Performing hits from his latest album “Idols” Yungblud delivered a stellar performance including hits such as “Lovesick Lullaby,” “Funeral” and more.
The artist said he was “bringing rock and roll to the UAE” saying that pop, techno and rap were the predominant genres of music at festivals here.
Yungblud delivered his usual rockstar tricks including throwing water, a guitar and even a mic stand at the audience.
But the moment that took the show up a notch was his crowd surfing — during his hit “Fleabag” Yungblud dove into the audience and screamed along to the lyrics with his fans.
His electric energy hyped up the crowd and the artist invited the audience to “mosh.”
Moshpits, often a key element at a rock concert, are a designated area where people dance by pushing or slamming into each other.
Moments before hitting the stage in Dubai, the artist found out he has been nominated for three Grammy awards. The nominations — his first Grammy nominations — include best rock song, best rock album and best rock performance.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on Feb. 1.
Paying homage to his late mentor Ozzy Osbourne, Yungblud performed a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” and dedicated it to Osbourne who died earlier this year.
The show ended with a promise to return to the region and a powerful performance of his hit “Zombie.”
