  • Iraq coach Graham Arnold says 鈥榩layers need to focus on what they have鈥

JEDDAH: Indonesia manager Patrick Kluivert is confident his team can put aside the disappointment of their previous result against 海角直播 and show the ability to achieve victory against Iraq on Saturday in the Asian play-off for the 2026 World Cup.
Kluivert told the press on Friday at the press conference ahead of the Iraq match that his team is fully prepared for their match against Iraq.
He said: 鈥淲e will take the field again tomorrow, aiming for a positive result after our previous defeat.
鈥淭he team has prepared a strategy we believe is best against Iraq, which you鈥檒l see on the pitch tomorrow,鈥 he added.
Indonesia are attempting to reach the World Cup for the first time and Iraq鈥檚 match on Saturday will determine their fate after a loss to 海角直播.
From his side, Iraq coach Graham Arnold emphasizes the importance of focusing on their upcoming match against Indonesia, avoiding any distractions to their game against 海角直播 on Tuesday.
鈥淭he players need to focus on what they have, and if they think about the refereeing, their focus on the match will be greatly reduced,鈥 he said.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Arnold added: 鈥淭he players are 100 percent fit. The positive thing is that all of our players are playing regularly. When I compare that to before I took over as national team coach, there was a big difference in fitness, and now this aspect has improved significantly.鈥
Iraq will play its first match in Group B of the play-offs, which also includes 海角直播, who sit on the top of the standings with three points, following their 3-2 victory over Indonesia on Wednesday in the opening round of the playoffs.

PERTH: England cricket captain Ben Stokes has defended his side鈥檚 lack of warm-up matches as the team prepares for the first Ashes test against Australia in Perth beginning Nov. 21.
England is looking to break a 14-year winless run in Australia. Stokes and fellow veteran batter Joe Root have never won a test in Australia, with no survivors left from the 2010-11 series win.
Australia has won 5-0, 4-0, and 4-0 the last three times England has traveled Down Under for the most anticipated series in world cricket.
England鈥檚 only preparation for the first test is a three-day match against the England Lions, essentially an England A team, starting on Thursday at Lilac Hill in Perth.
That decision has drawn criticism from Ashes greats on both sides such as Ian Healy, Ian Botham and Geoffrey Boycott.
But Stokes believes England鈥檚 preparation will be more than sufficient to win a test in Australia for the first time since it last won an away Ashes series.
鈥淭here鈥檚 obviously state (domestic first-class) cricket going on at the moment,鈥 Stokes said Wednesday. 鈥淭ime has got to be taken into consideration as well. Some of our squad members were playing the (white-ball) series in New Zealand.鈥
Most of Australia鈥檚 Ashes test players are tuning up in those same first-class matches this week and early next.
Stokes also said cricket鈥檚 鈥渏am-packed鈥 schedule makes it more difficult to prepare than 鈥10, 15, 20, 30 years ago.鈥
鈥淲e put a lot of time and effort into how we prepare for every series, and that hasn鈥檛 changed with this one,鈥 Stokes added. 鈥淐ome the 21st of this month, we know that we would have done everything possible that we could have done.鈥
Root has not scored a century in 14 tests in Australia.
鈥淗e鈥檚 the greatest English batter that the nation鈥檚 seen,鈥 Stokes said. 鈥淗e鈥檚 been a phenomenal form over the last two, three years. He鈥檚 not come out here to score a 100 in Australia, he鈥檚 come out here to contribute to the team.鈥
Stokes said his team should not be overwhelmed playing in Australia.
鈥淐oming to Australia for the Ashes is a lot different than anything else when you鈥檙e playing,鈥 he said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a lot more that goes on away from the cricket itself.鈥
The Perth test will be followed by four more in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
