RIYADH: Jazan Gov. Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz inaugurated on Wednesday the Cancer Research Forum at Jazan University.

The two-day forum is taking place under the theme: “Together Toward Achieving the National Targets in Combating Cancer.”

Jazan University President Prof. Mohammed bin Hassan Abu Rasin told the audience that the forum played an important role, along with joint scientific research, in tackling cancer.

The forum seeks to open scientific cooperation between experts from universities and national research centers.

Another session addressed the importance of artificial intelligence in various stages of scientific research.

A third workshop, presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Qahtani from King Khalid University, reviewed the current state of oncology services in the ֱ’s southern region and how services would be developed and expanded in the future.

  • The ISAR Honours program promotes best practices in sustainability and SDG reporting and recognizes their role as a key component of corporate annual reports

RIYADH: The Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants has received the ISAR Honours 2025 for sustainability from the UN Conference on Trade and Development’s International Standards of Accounting and Reporting expert team.

CEO Ahmed Al-Meghames said that the “award recognizes the organization’s leadership in implementing international sustainability standards and enhancing transparency in financial and non-financial reporting.”

He noted that the recognition reflects years of work to build a strong professional and knowledge-based foundation.

Al-Meghames highlighted that translating international sustainability standards into Arabic is a strategic step that links the Arab world with global benchmarks.

The organization is the only professional body authorized to translate international financial reporting and sustainability standards into Arabic, enabling nearly half a billion Arabic speakers to access these standards in their native language.

Al-Meghames added that Saudi Vision 2030 has been the main driver of institutional and professional development in the Kingdom, positioning transparency, investment and sustainability as pillars of the future economy.

He called on stakeholders to seize opportunities in this rapidly evolving sector and to engage in the Kingdom’s journey toward greater transparency and sustainability.
