  • Tsahkna said: We are living in very intense times. And the Israeli attack against Qatar, we have loudly condemned
  • He confirmed Estonia will join the declaration on two states at the upcoming UN General Assembly and said he was optimistic about the forthcoming Saudi-French summit

RIYADH:聽Estonia鈥檚 Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has strongly condemned Israel鈥檚 airstrike on the Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday, describing it as a violation of sovereignty and warning of a dangerous erosion of international law.

Speaking to Arab News during a visit to 海角直播 this week, Tsahkna said: 鈥淲e are living in very intense times. And the Israeli attack against Qatar, we have loudly condemned.

鈥淲e discussed this matter as well, with his highness, the (Saudi) foreign minister. Our position is very clear. This is a question of sovereignty, which is, for Estonia, a question of principle.鈥

The strike, which targeted senior Hamas leaders, even while Gaza ceasefire talks were ongoing, killed six people, including a Qatari security officer. Qatar denounced it as a grave violation of international law, with widespread international criticism following.

On the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Tsahkna reiterated Estonia鈥檚 long-standing stance. 鈥淓stonia has had a very clear position over the years in supporting the two-state solution, and that is the only way out from this conflict,鈥 he said. 鈥淯nfortunately, we don鈥檛 see the progress and goodwill as well. And of course, the attack against Qatar doesn鈥檛 support this process at all because Qatar and also 海角直播 and many other countries here in the region are playing the key role for bringing these negotiations together.鈥

He confirmed Estonia will join the declaration on two states at the upcoming UN General Assembly and said he was optimistic about the forthcoming Saudi-French summit on the issue in New York.

The foreign minister's statements to Arab News comes at a time when European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she will seek sanctions and a partial trade suspension against Israel over the war in Gaza.

  • Aim to protect 30% of Saudi by 2030
  • Unique biodiversity and tourism value

RIYADH: 海角直播鈥檚 Council of Ministers has included the Ras Hatiba and Blue Holes marine areas on the Kingdom鈥檚 national list of reserves, the Saudi Press Agency reported recently.

The move reflects 海角直播鈥檚 commitment to protecting biodiversity and advancing sustainable development goals under Vision 2030, the SPA reported.

Mohammed Qurban, CEO of the National Center for Wildlife, said the decision followed extensive biological, natural, and social studies confirming the two reserves鈥 unique biodiversity, and economic and tourism value.

Located northwest of Jeddah, Ras Hatiba covers 5,715 sq. km and features coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass beds 鈥 key habitats for green turtles, dugongs, whales, dolphins, and sharks.

The Blue Holes areas are rich in marine life, including turtles, fish, mammals, and invertebrates. Their discovery was first announced in 2022 after 20 such formations were found along the southern Red Sea coast.

With the addition of these two protected areas, the Kingdom鈥檚 nature reserves now cover 16.1 percent of its territory, up from 6.5 percent, and moving closer to the national goal of 30 percent by 2030.
