RIYADH: 海角直播鈥檚 Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan said on Tuesday the Kingdom had tackled difficult structural changes at an incredible pace over the past seven years.

Speaking at the US-Saudi Investment Forum in Riyadh, Al-Jadaan said private investment as a percentage of gross domestic product could take decades, but 海角直播 was boasting growth in the private sector from 16 to 23 percent.

He added: 鈥満=侵辈 currently has the lowest unemployment rate in the country鈥檚 history with about 3.5 percent, and among the nationals the Kingdom achieved its target for Vision 2030 with the rate being 7 percent.鈥

Al-Jadaan also said there had been major structural changes regarding women鈥檚 empowerment.

He said: 鈥淏ringing half of your society to the productive part of the economy is significant and that drives a serious change. Moving from 17 percent of women participating in the workforce to 36 percent is a serious structural change.鈥

Meanwhile, the minister said the Kingdom鈥檚 target of 100 million tourists by 2030 had been achieved two years ago, and added: 鈥淲hen you have a leadership that sets a clear vision and mobilizes the nation behind it, the people of 海角直播 then own it and see that this is their vision, their country and their transformation.鈥

US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said the US prioritized its relationship with 海角直播.

He added: 鈥淧resident Trump鈥檚 economic agenda focuses on three parts: trade, tax bills and deregulation.鈥

Bessent said the US was working to rebalance its economy with the focus on manufacturing, and hoped China would shift to a consumer economy.

海角直播鈥檚 Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih welcomed attendees at the event and thanked the聽Kingdom鈥檚 leadership for hosting the event.聽

RIYADH: 海角直播鈥檚 General Directorate of Narcotics Control has assisted the UAE to thwart an attempt to smuggle 89,760 amphetamine pills into the country, the Ministry of Interior鈥檚 security spokesman said on Sunday.

The banned drugs were hidden in a consignment of clothing accessories, Brig. Gen. Talal bin Shalhoub said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.

Shalhoub stated that the monitoring of criminal networks involved in drug smuggling, along with information shared by the GDNC with its UAE counterpart, led to the operation鈥檚 success.

In addition, Saudi authorities said customs operations at land, air and sea ports in the Kingdom recorded 1,371 seizures of prohibited items in a single week, the SPA reported.

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, or ZATCA, said there were 47 cases involving hashish, cocaine, heroin, shabu, and captagon pills, and 333 of other prohibited substances.

Customs officials also thwarted 1,046 attempts to smuggle tobacco and its derivatives into the country. They further dealt with 15 cases related to sums of money, and three incidents involving weapons and their accessories, the SPA stated in a separate report.

The ZATCA has called on the public to support its efforts by reporting smuggling activities through its designated hotline, 1910, via email at [email protected], or by calling the international number 009661910.

The ZATCA assured the public that all reports will be treated confidentially, with financial rewards for accurate information.

The Kingdom is supporting Palestine鈥檚 efforts to build its economy and achieve sustainable development, the SPA added.

The Global Symposium for Regulators began on Sunday titled 鈥淩egulation for sustainable digital development.鈥 The gathering includes policymakers and digital stakeholders from around the world.

MAKKAH: Al-Namas International Sculpture Symposium wrapped up in Asir region recently, bringing together leading Arab sculptors under the theme 鈥淟inear Rhythms.鈥

Organized by Al-Namas municipality with artistic direction from Saudi sculptor Mohammed Al-Thaqafi, the symposium, which concluded on Aug. 26, highlighted the governorate鈥檚 ambition to strengthen its visual identity and enhance public spaces with contemporary art.

Ten renowned sculptors from across the Arab world took part: Saudi representatives Al-Thaqafi, Ali Al-Tokhais, and Ebtesam Saleh were joined by Morocco鈥檚 Ikram Kabbaj, the UAE鈥檚 Azza Al-Qubaisi, Qatar鈥檚 Mohammed Al-Ateeq, Oman鈥檚 Yousuf Al-Rawahi, Sudan鈥檚 Khalid Abdullah, Tunisia鈥檚 Mohammed Bou Aziz, and Egypt鈥檚 Omar Toussoun.

RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Culture鈥檚 Film Commission is preparing to launch the third Saudi Film Confex from Oct. 22-25 in Riyadh.

The event, called 鈥淎 Gathering That Transforms the Scene,鈥 will bring together leading filmmakers, local and international producers, and industry specialists from across the global cinematic sector, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Building on the momentum of previous events, the confex will strengthen its role as a catalyst for the growth and empowerment of the Saudi film industry.

RIYADH: Members of 海角直播鈥檚 Project Masam removed 968 explosive devices from various regions of Yemen last week.

The total included 925 unexploded ordnances, 32 anti-tank mines, four anti-personnel mines and seven improvised explosive devices, according to a recent report.

Ousama Al-Gosaibi, the initiative鈥檚 managing director, said that 512,323 mines have been cleared since the project began in 2018.

The explosives were planted indiscriminately and posed a threat to civilians, including children, women and the elderly.

The demining operations took place in Marib, Aden, Jouf, Shabwa, Taiz, Hodeidah, Lahij, Sanaa, Al-Bayda, Al-Dhale and Saada.

The project trains local demining engineers and provides them with modern equipment. It also offers support to Yemenis injured by the devices.

Teams are tasked with clearing villages, roads and schools to facilitate the safe movement of civilians and delivery of humanitarian aid.
