During the panel discussion, Al-Hugail said: 鈥淎t the Saudi Cultural Development Fund, sustainability is not just a goal; it is at the core of everything we do. Our approach is guided by key indicators that align with global Environmental, Social, and Governance standards.鈥

In pursuit of economic sustainability with lasting positive social impact, the Saudi Cultural Development Fund focuses on supporting businesses that build capabilities.

A notable example is the fund鈥檚 backing of the 鈥淐HEFPreneur鈥 program, which has equipped 42 Saudi women with culinary and entrepreneurial expertise, empowering them with the skills to start their businesses in the culinary sector.

The panel also explored sustainable business models in the cultural sector. As funding landscapes continue to evolve globally, the sector is turning to innovative alternatives. This new wave of cultural financing includes emerging models such as public-private partnerships, which play a key role in fostering an economically sustainable cultural sector.

As an example, the fund has forged a pioneering collaboration with several leading Saudi banks and the Saudi Credit Bureau to strengthen its offerings and enhance the efficiency of credit decision-making processes.

Demonstrating its commitment to sectoral growth, the fund also contributed 40 percent to the $100 million Saudi Film Fund, aimed at expanding the Kingdom鈥檚 film industry, attracting private sector investment, and driving the sector鈥檚 long-term development.

Last year, the fund launched 鈥淐ultural Financing,鈥 an inclusive umbrella of financial services designed to support micro, small, and medium-sized cultural enterprises across all stages of the value chain 鈥 fostering the growth and expansion of cultural projects.

Al-Hugail concluded the panel discussion by saying: 鈥淭hrough international exhibitions like Expo 2025 Osaka, visitors can experience 海角直播鈥檚 rich cultural diversity and preview a forward-looking vision of the country鈥檚 future.鈥

The fund is taking part in Expo 2025 Osaka within the 海角直播 Pavilion, highlighting the Kingdom鈥檚 strategy to position culture as a major economic force while ensuring its sustainable growth.

This aligns with both the National Cultural Strategy and Vision 2030, which focus on diversifying the national economy, with the fund serving as a primary financial enabler for the cultural sector.

  • Agreement seeks to place Kingdom at forefront of climate innovation, sustainable economic transformation, and the nurturing of entrepreneurs in environmental technologies
  • Netzero works with communities to connect afforestation projects with businesses that want to offset carbon emissions, meet sustainability goals and help restore ecosystems

RIYADH: 海角直播鈥檚 Netzero platform has formed a strategic partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature to help advance the Kingdom鈥檚 2060 net-zero targets, and accelerate nature-based climate solutions throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.

The agreement seeks to position 海角直播 at the forefront of climate innovation and sustainable economic transformation, and reinforce its expanding role in nurturing the development of entrepreneurs who can create sophisticated environmental technologies on Saudi soil, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The goal is to showcase a distinctly Saudi approach that effectively connects breakthrough innovations with on-the-ground environmental protection and climate responses.

HIGHLIGHTS

鈥 Agreement seeks to place Kingdom at forefront of sustainable economic transformation, and the nurturing of entrepreneurs in environmental technologies.

鈥 Netzero works with communities to connect afforestation projects with businesses that want to offset carbon emissions, meet sustainability goals and help restore ecosystems.

Netzero works with communities to connect afforestation projects with businesses that want to offset their carbon emissions, meet sustainability goals, help restore ecosystems and make a difference for future generations. IUCN is a global environmental network that unites governments, civil society and scientific experts in efforts to conserve nature and promote sustainable development.

Netzero鈥檚 founder and CEO, Mohammed Al-Khalid, described the agreement as a watershed moment for the application of Saudi-developed technologies in conservation work. His organization has built cutting-edge digital infrastructure to track environmental impacts, monitor recovery of vegetation, and optimize tree-planting campaigns, he said, resulting in unprecedented transparency in the measurement of outcomes, and improved climate gains.

The partnership will pursue several strategic goals, he added, including the restoration of ecosystems at scale through pioneering nature-based approaches that address climate disruption and rejuvenate native biodiversity; the safeguarding of wildlife and natural habitats by merging intelligent technologies with IUCN鈥檚 deep conservation expertise; and the strengthening of local communities through knowledge-sharing initiatives and the development of environmental skills that can promote sustainable livelihoods.

Al-Khalid stressed that the combination of Saudi-engineered environmental technologies with field conservation demonstrates the readiness of the Kingdom to share its technical solutions with the world. Netzero鈥檚 digital platforms rank among the region鈥檚 pioneering systems in their ability to accurately quantify the effects of carbon, and monitor reforestation efforts through the use of artificial intelligence and geographic data analysis, he added.

Hani El-Shaer, the regional director of IUCN鈥檚 Regional Office for West Asia, said the agreement reflects a mutual dedication to the deployment of workable, nature-based solutions that build climate resilience. He added that the pairing of Saudi innovation with global conservation knowledge would produce measurable results in ecosystem recovery, while advancing national and regional environmental agendas.

The Netzero platform was launched through 海角直播鈥檚 national Sidra program under the auspices of Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
