Nokia and ACES-NH deploy 25G PON-based neutral host fiber network

Nokia recently announced that ACES-NH successfully deployed 海角直播鈥檚 first-ever 25G PON-based neutral host network, marking a significant milestone in the country鈥檚 fiber evolution.

Built on Nokia鈥檚 fiber technology, the new network enables multiple service providers to leverage a unified infrastructure, minimizing redundancy and driving enhanced connectivity to bolster 海角直播鈥檚 Vision 2030.

The neutral host model allows multiple service providers to share a high-performance fiber broadband network, improving efficiency and reducing infrastructure duplication.

As the leading supplier of 25G PON technology, Nokia equips ACES-NH with a future-ready fiber platform, supporting evolving use cases 鈥 from residential broadband and enterprise connectivity to smart city services and industrial applications.

ACES-NH鈥 open access network, powered by Nokia鈥檚 Altiplano Access Controller, leverages automation to streamline operations. The initial deployment comprises Optical Line Terminals and Optical Network Terminals, laying the groundwork for future nationwide expansion and extended use cases for enterprises.

Based on the Quillion chipset, Nokia鈥檚 25G PON fiber broadband solution enables ACES-NH to deliver high-speed data and low latency for next-generation applications. This advancement ensures that businesses, small and medium enterprises, and consumers can enjoy seamless connectivity for cloud gaming, enterprise networking, and next-generation digital experiences.

Dr. Luai Hasnawi, chief of fixed network at ACES-NH, said: 鈥淭ogether with Nokia, we are proud to deliver 海角直播鈥檚 first 25G PON-based neutral host network. This deployment transforms fiber connectivity in the Kingdom, giving multiple service providers secure,

high-speed access over a shared infrastructure and reinforcing ACES-NH鈥 leadership in neutral host solutions.鈥

Kamal Ballout, head of enterprise and partners for network infrastructure at Nokia Middle East & Africa, said: 鈥淭his milestone marks a major shift toward 鈥楩iber for Everything.鈥 With 25G PON, infrastructure providers like ACES-NH can address residential, enterprise, and mobile transport needs on a single network, reducing costs and accelerating digital innovation across 海角直播.鈥

GE Vernova starts operations at Jafurah power plant

GE Vernova Inc. has announced the start of commercial operations at Jafurah Cogeneration Independent Steam and Power Plant. The plant is located approximately 125 km southeast of Dammam. GE Vernova provided a holistic solution including the core power plant equipment, its 7HA.01 gas turbine, and a service agreement for 20 years, including maintenance and supply of parts to manage all aspects of the engine鈥檚 lifecycle.
The facility is expected to be among the most efficient power plants in 海角直播.
The cogeneration process maximizes energy output by capturing and reusing excess heat or steam. The plant is expected to deliver up to 314 tons/hour of steam, as well as up to 320 megawatts of electricity to support Jafurah gas field operations. By 2030, the Jafurah gas field is expected to produce up to 630,000 barrels of natural gas liquids and condensates, as well as more than 420 million standard cubic feet of ethane per day.
鈥淪ignificantly increasing gas production capacity over the next decade will positively contribute to the Kingdom鈥檚 energy mix and support self-sufficiency in gas supply as demand for power continues to grow in residential and industrial sectors,鈥 said a representative of Doosan Enerbility. 鈥淭he development of the Jafurah gas field was a very ambitious project and as the engineering, procurement, and construction company, we鈥檙e proud to have supported it.鈥
鈥淭his project, featuring GE Vernova鈥檚 first H-Class gas turbine completed in 海角直播, has contributed to the local economy by creating direct and indirect jobs and expanding domestic manufacturing capabilities,鈥 said Joseph Anis, president and CEO for GE Vernova鈥檚 gas power business in Europe, Middle East and Africa. 鈥淎ligned with Saudi Vision 2030, we are proud the turbine was completed and delivered from GESAT, advancing local industrialization and strengthening the Kingdom鈥檚 power sector.鈥
Since its establishment in 2017, GESAT has played an important role in meeting the Kingdom鈥檚 demand for gas turbines, specifically through the localized completion of high-performance F-class and H-class gas turbines, and the manufacturing of post cast components and accessory modules.
GESAT was formerly a joint venture between Dussur and GE Vernova. In September 2024, GE Vernova acquired Dussur鈥檚 shares to continue enabling economic diversification, localization, high value exports, and talent development efforts in the country to support the Kingdom鈥檚 goals under Saudi Vision 2030. The facility is a part of the GE Manufacturing and Technology Center campus.
GE Vernova has contributed to the development of the Kingdom鈥檚 energy infrastructure for approximately 90 years. Today, the company鈥檚 investments in the country include the Khobar Integration Facility for grid solutions and the GEMTEC campus, which houses a Service and Repairs Center for gas turbines, the MENA Decarbonization Center of Excellence, and a Monitoring and Diagnostics Center for the remote monitoring of power generation assets, in addition to GESAT.
