海角直播 launches aviation industry cluster in Jeddah to drive advanced manufacturing

RIYADH: The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones has revealed plans for a 1.2 million sq. m aviation industry cluster at MODON Oasis in Jeddah.

This ambitious project, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the General Authority of Civil Aviation, aims to localize cutting-edge aviation technologies and strengthen the sector鈥檚 supply chains.

The announcement, made during the ongoing Aerospace Connect Forum, was attended by GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, deputy minister of industry and mineral resources for industrial affairs, and MODON CEO Majed Al-Argoubi.

Strategically located near King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah Islamic Port, the aviation cluster is poised to offer an attractive investment landscape for aerospace manufacturing. The site will feature ready-built factories of varying sizes, designed to accommodate companies in the aviation sector and drive the localization of this vital industry.

This initiative is in line with 海角直播鈥檚 National Industrial Strategy, Aviation Strategy, and Tourism Strategy, which collectively aim to position the Kingdom as a leading global aviation hub. The broader goal is to transform 海角直播 into a center for air transport, handling 30 million passengers and 2 million tonnes of air cargo annually.

MODON, in its commitment to advancing the aviation sector, is participating as a 鈥淕old Partner鈥 in the inaugural Aerospace Connect Forum, which runs in Jeddah until Feb. 25. The event is bringing together prominent local and international aviation experts, fostering a platform for knowledge exchange and business collaboration.

In addition to its efforts in aviation, MODON has also recently launched a food industry cluster in Jeddah, spanning over 11 million sq. m in the city鈥檚 second and third industrial zones. According to the Saudi Press Agency, this project is the world鈥檚 largest food industry cluster by area, supporting Vision 2030鈥檚 goals to enhance food security and industrial growth.

The new aviation industry cluster marks a significant milestone in 海角直播鈥檚 strategy to boost industrial competitiveness, drive economic growth, and localize critical technologies, reinforcing the Kingdom鈥檚 leadership in the global aviation sector.

Concierge demand surges as CEOs relocate to 海角直播

RIYADH: As 海角直播 attracts a growing influx of CEOs and high-net-worth individuals, the demand for concierge and lifestyle management services is soaring 鈥 with requests becoming increasingly complex and personalized.

鈥淭here鈥檚 an avalanche of people, for all the reasons that you would know, relocating to 海角直播,鈥 said Sir Ben Elliot, founder of global luxury concierge firm Quintessentially, in an interview with Arab News during TOURISE 鈥 the Saudi Ministry of Tourism-powered global summit held in Riyadh from Nov. 11鈥13.

For many new arrivals, the focus is on navigating practicalities: opening bank accounts, securing cars and drivers, hiring domestic staff, and finding schools for their children. 鈥淵ou need real proactive help to sort stuff out,鈥 Elliot said. 鈥淪ome of that stuff is a minefield.鈥

Over the past 18 months, demand has not only increased but also evolved, prompting Quintessentially to enhance its local operations. Elliot explained that the company is merging international expertise with Saudi talent to ensure high service standards from the outset.

鈥淲e brought people from our offices around the world working with young, brilliant, talented Saudis so that the service that you can expect when you arrive is really ticked off,鈥 he said.

Elliot noted that Quintessentially鈥檚 outbound support for Saudi members is also expanding, reflecting the growing global mobility of Saudi travelers. 鈥淲hat we鈥檙e seeing from Saudis themselves is huge,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e have great people on the ground servicing that.鈥

According to Elliot, the definition of luxury is shifting from material possessions to emotion-driven, experiential value 鈥 especially among younger consumers. 鈥淚f you think about the history of luxury, it has often been about things, materials,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hey want to experience, they want to feel.鈥

He emphasized that brands in hospitality, retail, and travel need to focus on 鈥渕eaningful human touch and relationships.鈥

Elliot highlighted 海角直播鈥檚 approach to merging sustainability with luxury as a key opportunity for the sector. 鈥淭he Kingdom of 海角直播 is at the forefront of trying to marry sustainable development alongside a kind of luxury experience,鈥 he said.

He pointed to Diriyah as an example of how cultural authenticity can coexist with modern hospitality and retail offerings. 鈥淲henever I take friends who have never been to 海角直播, to Diriyah, that to me is a physical manifestation of where culture (and) sustainability meets a pretty kind of modern experience,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t feels absolutely real and authentic.鈥

Elliot said hosting TOURISE in Riyadh was symbolic of the city鈥檚 rapid evolution. 鈥淓veryone can see what鈥檚 happened here in the last 6 or 7 years, it鈥檚 kind of seeing is believing,鈥 he said.

He also reframed sustainability as a shared responsibility across industries, warning that leaders who fail to prioritize environmental and social impact risk alienating younger generations.

Despite the rise of technology, Elliot underscored that the essence of travel and tourism remains deeply human. 鈥淲e humans want to interact with other humans,鈥 he said.
