  • If you are looking for a comforting dessert during the winter season, Mamola’s exclusive winter menu offers large, hot cakes perfect for kashta or desert camping

This º£½ÇÖ±²¥ brand offers a variety of traditional, buttery sweets with a unique twist.

As the name Mamola suggests, the dessert chain with branches across the Kingdom takes inspiration from the iconic mamoul cookie, which is known for being a staple on every Eid Al-Fitr table.

The round mamoul is stuffed with dates, walnuts, pistachios or nuts, and the outer layer is sprinkled with crushed white sugar.

Mamola has different variations of the mamoul cookie: cream, sesame, kunafa, and many more.

My personal favorite is the kunafa mamoul. Resembling kunafa, a traditional Arab dessert, the cookie is filled with cream instead of dates and topped with crispy shredded filo dough.

But Mamola has much more than cookies. From cakes to ice cream, the diverse menu will leave you feeling spoiled for choice.

If you are looking for a comforting dessert during the winter season, Mamola’s exclusive winter menu offers large, hot cakes perfect for kashta or desert camping.

My personal favorite is the cinnamon date cake, served in a heated dish. After the first bite, I was blown away. It was soft and sweet, with salted caramel and pecans balancing its toffee flavor perfectly.

What makes Mamola stand out is their attention to detail in their curated boxes, which come in various sizes, making them the perfect gifts for loved ones.

Where We Are Going Today: Pick — Kuwaiti cafe in Riyadh

A Kuwaiti cafe that arrived in Riyadh in 2020, Pick is a popular grab-and-go spot offering fresh, tasty, and healthy snacks and meals.

Their sandwiches and hot platters are perfect for lunch or dinner, with calorie, fat, carb, and protein info for easy choices.

My favorite is the turkey veggie with its simple ingredients like reduced-fat cheddar, tomato, lettuce, Dijon mustard, and a few drops of Tabasco.

Other options include chicken rocca, chicken spinach, the club, egg sandwich with high-protein bread, tandoori wrap, tuna pesto, pepperoni pizza wrap, chicken fajita wrap, and more.

Hot platters range from chicken tawook and butter chicken to lamb machboos, shrimp red curry, galbi jim, chicken katsu, green chicken curry, and pasta options.

Salads come in small side pots or larger meal bowls, all fresh and balanced. The quinoa Greek salad pot is a standout.

Their acai bowls — classic, peanut, passion fruit, or build-your-own — are also appealing.

Pick also offers bakery items, frozen yogurt, and healthy cheesecakes. The fro-yo toppings were good, though I’d have preferred the yogurt a bit tangier.

The cafe has a relaxed, airy vibe, ideal for meals or light work. One tip: Skip the matcha unless you like it more milky than grassy.

Overall, Pick is a solid choice for complete meals and healthy desserts. Check their Instagram @pick_saudi for more options.
