Where We Are Going Today: Raoul’s at VIA Riyadh

Raoul’s at VIA Riyadh transports diners to France with its elegant menu of French-inspired bites and desserts. The restaurant’s attention to detail and dedication to authentic flavors makes it a standout for those seeking a refined dining experience.

Start with the braised lamb, served on a crisp parmesan cookie and topped with a touch of tomato jam. This combination brings rich, savory flavors with a slight sweetness, capturing the essence of French cuisine.

The beetroot, feta and avocado mini-tart adds a refreshing, colorful bite to the meal, while the crispy crab beignets are light yet packed with flavor, offering a perfect contrast to the heavier dishes.

For dessert, Raoul’s sticky date pudding pops, coated in warm toffee sauce, provide a cozy, nostalgic sweetness, while raspberry profiteroles with a crispy biscuit finish the meal on a light, fruity note.

The drinks menu complements the French flavors, featuring options such as the Kir Royal, a sparkling blend of wine with cherry cordial, and the Pink Promise, which mixes sour soup juice, rose water, hibiscus tea and lime juice for a floral, refreshing taste. The ambiance is relaxed and sophisticated, with live music adding a touch of elegance to the dining experience.

Parking is validated for guests that dine in the restaurants only.

Raoul’s dedication to authentic French techniques and modern twists makes it a fantastic choice for an elegant night out, offering dishes that are both classic and inventive.

Where We Are Going Today: Hot Taste

  • The menu is simple: smash burgers, sides, and drinks — nothing gimmicky or overdone

Hot Taste is the kind of burger spot you might overlook — not because of the food, but because the brand rarely advertises itself. No bold campaigns, no hype, no loud billboards. Yet once the food arrives, it’s clear this place knows what it is doing.

The menu is simple: smash burgers, sides, and drinks — nothing gimmicky or overdone.

I tried three of their bestsellers: the Classic, the Smoke, and the Big Show. All stood out for one thing: the patty. Well-seasoned, juicy, and carrying real beef flavor rather than being drowned in sauce. The Big Show, topped with a fried egg and melted cheese, adds just the right twist.

The sides showed similar care. The dynamite shrimp were crispy (although slightly heavy on sauce). The mango salad and the Island juice offered a refreshing balance between bites.

If Hot Taste has a weak spot, it is visibility. The branding is low-key, and the locations — tucked away in Dammam and Al-Ahsa — don’t stand out. Most people find it by chance or word of mouth rather than through marketing. With stronger promotion, it could easily rank among the region’s most popular burger places.

Still, the experience speaks for itself: fair prices, good portions, and quality that exceeds expectations. Check their Instagram — @hot_taste_ksa — for more details.
