DUBAI: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai has gifted Lania Fakher, an 8-year-old jockey from Iraq, a herd of horses on Monday after her horse died.
A video of Lania crying over the dead body of her mare, ‘Jasno,’ went viral on the weekend, causing widespread sympathy for her.
The horse was gifted to her by her father when she was 5 years old.
Lania in her video was saying that her horse got sick recently, and she tried her best to take care of him during and try to save him even though the medical team advised no one to approach him.
Lania described the late “Jasno” as her closest friend whom she said she would never forget.
Sheikh Mohammed also ordered the construction of an equestrian center to help Lania train and develop her skills while teaching other children to ride.
