Chan, a newly opened casual restaurant in Jeddah, is the place to go if you’re craving Asian food. It gathers “favorites from the streets of Asia” under one roof.
Speaking of streets, Chan’s lively and festive interiors recreate the trendy, urban streets and alleys that will take you on a journey through downtown Japan, Korea and beyond.
Luminous neon lights, graffiti, old-school arcade games, and elements of urban Asian art and architecture lend the restaurant a transportive and groovy vibe.
From experimental diners to those who absolutely love Asian cuisine, Chan offers indulgent flavors with something for everyone.
Chan’s experienced chefs present authentic dishes in addition to signature offerings such as steamed shrimp dumplings, tom yum soup, Korean ramen, kung pao chicken, Mongolian beef, and more.
During my visit what attracted me most was the well-balanced flavor of the hot and sour soup, with a spicy and soothing taste that makes it a perfect dish for cold days. It is made using chicken stock and spiced with typical Asian ingredients including ginger, soy sauce and pepper.
The crispy noodle salad was also delicious and suitable for those who are conscious about their calorie intake.
Chan is a common surname in Asian households that also has a folklore connotation to it. One thing is for certain, the restaurant does not disappoint.
