LONDON: The Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed four聽Houthi drones targeting civilian areas in the Kingdom's southwestern city Khamis Mushayt, one聽targeting Jazan and another targeting the southern region聽on Saturday.
One of the drones targeting聽Khamis Mushayt was fired earlier on in the day.
The coalition also聽intercepted a ballistic missile attack targeting the capital Riyadh.
The coalition said it is monitoring a number of booby-trapped drones launched by the Houthis.聽
Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki said the Houthi militia鈥檚 attempts to attack civilians and civilian areas constitute a war crime.
He added that the coalition takes necessary operational measures to protect civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law.
The secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef bin Falah condemned the attempted Houthi attacks on the Kingdom.
Al-Hajraf said continuous attacks carried out by the militia show Houthi disregard for international law.聽
He called on the international community to take an 鈥渋mmediate and decisive stance to stop these repeated terrorist acts鈥 which target the security and stability of the Kingdom.
He stressed the GCC鈥檚 solidarity with 海角直播 and the council鈥檚 support for the measures the Kingdom takes to protect its citizens and residents. 聽

The attempted attacks came a day after the Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed two Houthi drones and a ballistic missile targeting 海角直播 on Friday.
